One of our first participants! Thank you!

San Diego Pediatricians for Clean Air is offering limited Youth/Scouting talks. We have two pediatricians who are willing to give brief Virtual Pediatric Health and Clean Air talks/discussions that can be tailored to your youth group’s needs. The prepared talks are about 10 minutes, and the pediatricians are willing to do a Q&A for total time about 30-45 minutes. We can also participate in career panels or answer career questions. Both volunteers are female physicians, and one is a BIPOC that has worked on health equity and graduated from Stanford Medical School. The other speaker graduated from Harvard Medical School but is not as interesting as the Stanford Medical School grad. For Brownie Troops and younger, we can offer a brief reusable arts craft project led by our Youth Education Coordinator who is a Cadette Girl Scout. All youths who participate in this activity will earn a Fun Patch that we can mail as a batch to the Troop Leader. This is a volunteer and public service advocacy project of our group. Of course there is no charge, but given that it is volunteer we have limited availability. We are NOT DISPENSING medical advice during these talks, but in general talking about children’s health and clean air. This talk would pair well with several of the Girl Scout Environmental badges and journeys. We are not an official part of Girl Scouts. This talk is available to any youth oriented community group.

  1. I learned about this opportunity from a mom in my Brownie group who is also a pediatrician. My Carmel valley brownie group (8-9 yrs old) would be very interested in being part of this discussion. Thank you.
