We are excited to announce two big developments within our organization. We welcome Dr. Benjamin Shleifer to San Diego Pediatricians for Clean Air. Dr. Shleifer is a pediatric physician working in San Diego. He completed his medical school training at Albany Medical College and his pediatrics residency at the University of Utah. Ben is a self proclaimed geology and earth science nerd and is passionate about lending his voice to making a difference in climate change and helping reduce the impact it will have on the planet and kids’ health.

San Diego Pediatricians for Clean Air has recently teamed up with the ReWild Mission Bay Project (affiliated with the San Diego Audubon Society) https://rewildmissionbay.org/, whose mission is to advocate for wetland restoration and increased community outdoor use of the NE corner of Mission Bay. The project’s aims are to help create cleaner water, greater climate resiliency, and improve public space/park use of the area. This is a great time for San Diego Pediatricians for Clean Air to get involved with this project given that major area development decisions are being decided on by the city this year and the San Diego Mayor has recently met with the ReWild Project and other stakeholders. By lending our voice we can help ReWild Advocate for more outdoor public spaces where kids can get outside, explore and get inspired by nature, stay active, and enjoy some fresh air!
